Quick Moving Tips

Remember Any Additional Packing Tape

Just because you've finished packing your stuff doesn't mean you won't need spare packing tape. It isn't rare for relocation experts to ask you to tape over one of your boxes because it wasn't properly packed. These are telltale signs of a relocation company that cares about your possessions. Something to remember: in case you do not have any extra packing tape left over on moving day, your mover might charge extra for a roll than a convenience store. It's like purchasing an instant camera at an amusement park. Be sure to ask your moving company about all additional costs beforehand.

Disconnecting Appliances

Unfortunately, relocating to a new place also means cleaning your old one. It's best to list out all of the different appliances that need your attention, like removing mildew and stains on appliances around the house, taking the water out of your dishwasher, and disconnecting the washing machine. Be aware that you're accountable for making sure your major appliances are disconnected. Your moving company won't do it for you due to insurance and safety reasons, so be sure to have your fridge, dishwasher, and any other appliance you may have readied for loading before starting to move.

Various Ways to Tape

There are special methods of securing and taping your boxes to prepare for packing, some are more efficient than others. Some relocation specialists use the "H" taping method. This involves taping down the center of the box in between the flaps and then the edges, forming the letter "H".
