Dealing With New State Taxes

Some of the main things to be aware of if you are relocating to a different state is the various means in which money is collected by the state government. Or in other words, taxes. Before you move, make sure to get informed about any potential changes on your property and income taxes. Do not allow your new state's sales tax catch you off guard as well.

Pack with Newspaper

If you're going to use newspaper to pad and wrap your belongings, make sure it is something that will not get ruined by ink smudges. You should take steps to make sure that your belongings won't be discolored by packing your belongings separately with a different wrap before padding the newspaper inside.

Packing Your Tools

If you have belongings that use gasoline or oil like your mechanical machines or home improvement tools, keep in mind to drain them prior to having the moving company pack them. This is a fundamental safety measure that you need to consider. Hand tools are simply managed; you can just put them in your tool box. Just remember to load the empty spaces with packing material such as Styrofoam to protect your tools from shifting during the move.
