Quick Moving Tips

Create A Backup Of Your Files

It is recommended that you save and back up the data on your personal computers or PDAs before your move, specifically if you use either for for your business. Remember, intense temperatures can harm your data so make sure to load and secure them in a cool place. It is recommended that you move these items on your own instead of leaving them to the movers.

Leaving Behind Appliances

Sadly, relocating to a new home also means cleaning your old one. It's smart to list out all of the various appliances that need your attention, like removing mildew and stains on appliances around the house, draining your dishwasher, and removing tubes from the washing machine. Be aware that you're responsible for making sure your major appliances are turned off. Your moving company won't do it for you due to insurance and safety reasons, so be sure to have your washing machine, stove, drier and any other appliance you may have prepared for loading before beginning to move.

Pack with Newspaper

If your are going to use newspaper to pack and cover your items, be sure it's an item that will not be messed up by ink stains. You can take steps to make sure that your things won't get discolored by wrapping your items separately with various wraps before padding the newspaper inside.
