Quick Moving Tips
Moving Your Weapons
From the inception of the "Brady Bill" in 1994, contract carriers are allowed to transport weapons for their customers. Unsurprisingly, the service obligates potential customers to follow precise rules. Firearms must be emptied of all ammunition and the particulars of every weapon (make, model, and serial number) must be included in the inventory. Moreover, carriers will not move your ammo for you. That is the responsibility of the owner. It's always a good idea to read up on local state legislation on the guidelines and regulations in relation to weapon security.
Leaving Behind Appliances
Sadly, moving to a new home also means tidying up your old one. It's best to make a list of all of the different appliances that need your attention, like removing mildew and stains on appliances around the house, taking the water out of your dishwasher, and disconnecting the washing machine. Be aware that you're accountable for making sure your major appliances are disconnected. Movers won't do it for you due to insurance and safety reasons, so be sure to have your stove, washer, fridge, and any other appliance you may have readied for loading before starting to move.
Packing Your Tools
If you have belongings that run on gasoline or oil like your power tools or lawn mower, remember to drain them before the movers load the items. This is a critical safety precaution that you need to think about. Hand tools are simply managed; you can just put them in your tool box. Just be sure to load up the empty spaces with packing material such as paper to stop your tools from shifting during transportation.
