Quick Moving Tips

How To Tape

There are special techniques of securing and taping your boxes in preparation for packing, some are more efficient than others. Some movers use the "H" taping method. This entails taping down the middle of the box in between the flaps and then the edges, creating the an "H" shape.

Loading Your Tools

If you have items that run on gasoline or oil like your power tools or lawn mower, be sure to drain them before the movers load them. This is a fundamental safety measure that you need to think about. Hand tools are simply managed; you can just leave those items in your tool box. Just remember to fill up the empty spaces with packing material such as paper to keep your tools from shifting during the move.

Moving Your Guns

Since the "Brady Bill" law in the mid 90's, contract carriers are permitted to ship guns for their clients. Naturally, the service requires potential customers to follow specific procedures. Weapons must be emptied of all ammunition and the particulars of every weapon (make, model, and serial number) has to be included in the inventory. Also, carriers will not transport your ammunition for you. The owner is responsible for that. It's always a smart idea to be savvy with local state legislation on the guidelines and regulations that concern gun safety.
