Quick Moving Tips

Using Newspaper for moving

If you're using newspaper to pad and wrap your stuff, be certain it's an item that won't get damaged by ink smudges. You could take a certain approach to ensure that your belongings won't be discolored by packing your belongings individually with a different wrap before padding the newspaper in.

Dont Forget The Extra Packing Tape

Just because you have completed packing your stuff does not mean you won't require additional packing tape. It isn't unusual for relocation experts to ask you to tape over one of your boxes because it wasn't properly packed. These are telltale signs of a mover that cares about your belongings. A word of caution: if you do not have any extra packing tape left over on the day you move, your moving company might charge extra for a roll than a hardware store. It's like buying a bottle of soda at an amusement park. Make sure to contact your relocation company about any extra costs before you move.

Packing Appliances

Unfortunately, moving to a new place also means cleaning your old one. It's smart to make a list of all of the various appliances that need your consideration, like removing mildew and stains on appliances around the house, draining your dishwasher, and removing tubes from the washing machine. Keep in mind that you're accountable for the disconnection of your major appliances. Movers won't do it for you due to insurance and safety reasons, so be sure to have your washing machine, stove, drier and any other appliance you may have prepared for loading before moving day.
