Quick Moving Tips

Catching Up On New State Taxes

Some of the main criteria to be aware of if you are relocating to another state is the variety of methods in which money is collected by the state government. Or in other words, taxes. Before you start moving, make sure to read up on all possible changes on your property and income taxes. Don't let your new state's sales tax catch you off guard as well.

Dont Forget Any Additional Packing Tape

Just because you have completed loading your items does not mean you won't need additional packing tape. It's not unusual for the moving company to ask you to tape over one of your boxes because it wasn't properly packed. These are telltale signs of a moving company that cares about your items. A word of caution: just in case you don't have any additional packing tape left over on moving day, your moving company might charge extra for a roll than a convenience store. It's like buying an instant camera at an amusement park. Be sure to contact your moving company about any additional costs beforehand.

Create A Backup Of Your Files

It is a smart idea that you back up the data on your laptop or desktop before your move, particularly if you use either for your job. Remember, extreme temperatures can damage your data so make sure to load and make sure they are secured in a cool place. It's recommended that you move these items on your own instead of leaving them to the moving company.
