Quick Moving Tips

Dealing With New State Taxes

One of the main criteria to be on top of if you are relocating to another state is the different ways in which revenue is received by the state government. Or in other words, taxes. Before you start moving, be sure to get informed about any possible adjustments on your property and income taxes. Do not let your new state's sales tax catch you off guard as well.

Remember Any Additional Packing Tape

Just because you've finished packing your belongings does not mean you won't need spare packing tape. It's not unusual for movers to ask you to tape over one of your boxes because it wasn't properly packed. These are telltale signs of a mover that cares about your belongings. A word of caution: in case you don't have any extra packing tape left over on the day you move, your mover may charge extra for a pack than a hardware shop. It's like buying a bottle of soda at an amusement park. Be sure to ask your moving company about any extra fees before you move.

Recycling What Is Left Over

Recycling may be the increasingly popular trend of the time, but it's definitely favorable for the entire population. Once you are done unloading your things, make sure to dismantle your boxes and flatten them so they can be recycled. You can give your boxes away to a local recycling center, and even certain relocation companies would be prepared to take them from you.
