Catching Up On New State Taxes

One of the major things to be on top of if you are relocating to another state is the different ways in which money is received by the state government. Or in other words, taxes. Before you start moving, make sure to educate yourself about any possible adjustments on your property and income taxes. Don't allow your new state's sales tax catch you off guard as well.

Let Your Movers Know

Prior to your movers arrival, be sure to let them know of everything that may hinder their movement, such as tight hallways. Also, look into where they can park. If your areas streets are narrow, notify your neighbors in advance when the movers truck will arrive therefore you collectively create space for the trailer.

Cleaning Appliances

Sadly, relocating to a new area also means cleaning your old one. It's a good idea to create lists of all of the various appliances that need your consideration, like removing mildew and stains on appliances around the house, draining your dishwasher, and disconnecting the washing machine. Be aware that you're accountable for the disconnection of your major appliances. Your moving company won't do it for you due to insurance and safety reasons, so be sure to have your stove, washer, fridge, and any other appliance you may have readied for loading before starting to move.
